4. Jimmy Graham

The Packers let Graham go because they saw first hand how much his skills have diminished. Clearly, their division rivals in Chicago couldn’t find any tape of his 2019 struggles.

That’s why they gave him one of the worst contracts of the offseason. Giving Graham a two-year deal worth up to $16 million was front office malpractice by the Bears. The chances of him enjoying a bounce-back season in either 2020 or 2021 are non-existent.

Bears fans need to hope that Cole Kmet quickly emerges as the team’s No. 1 tight end. He’s definitely going to have to be the top blocker at the position immediately. Even in his prime, Graham has never offered his team anything of substance in terms of strengthening their ground game.

If the Bears believe Graham is going to help elevate their shoddy quarterback play then their offense might be in serious trouble. He’s lost the ability to outrun safeties or cornerbacks. The only way Chicago is going to get him open is to isolate him against linebackers. Opposing defenses are much too smart to let that happen on a regular basis.
