LeBron James tweets heart-wrenching tribute to Breonna Taylor.
When LeBron James speaks, people listen and he’s using his platform to showcase a troubling case that has taken national and worldwide attention. On Friday the Los Angeles Lakers star tweeted a simple, yet effective meme in support of Breonna Taylor.
The meme apologizes to Taylor, who was killed on March 13 when Louisville, KY police officers opened fired on her while she was sleeping in her home. They were reportedly serving a no-knock warrant for a suspect who was already in custody.

Taylor, along with George Floyd who was killed by Minneapolis, MN police have become symbols of the Black Lives Matter movement.
“She had a whole plan on becoming a nurse and buying a house and then starting a family,” Ms. Palmer told The Louisville Courier-Journal. “Breonna had her head on straight, and she was a very decent person. She didn’t deserve this. She wasn’t that type of person.”
Why has there been no movement in the Breonna Taylor case?
The quote that James shared was in reference to the fact that, so far, nothing has been done to the police officers who were involved in her killing. Many celebrities and athletes have been protesting for the arrest and conviction of the officers, including Texans Kenny Stills who was arrested this week.
The NBA and WBA are using their jerseys as ways to honor Floyd, Taylor and other social and racial justice issues by allowing players to choose a message to display for the 2020 season. James decided to choose no message, instead saying he’ll let his actions speak for themselves.
