Alabama football continues to win in recruiting, especially in the trenches.
What a fantastic weekend it was for Alabama football on the recruiting trail.
On Friday, the Alabama Crimson Tide gained the commitments of twin brothers James Brockermeyer and Tommy Brockermeyer from Fort Worth, Texas. Despite being Texas football legacies by way of their All-American father Blake Brockermeyer and their older brother Luke Brockermeyer, the four-star center and five-star offensive tackle decided to roll with the Tide.
Two days later, their joint commitments were only amplified by four-star guard Terrence Ferguson of Fort Valley, Georgia opting to roll with the Tide as well. Along with five-star offensive tackle prospect JC Latham of the IMG Academy down in Bradenton, Florida, this is not only shaping up to be a great offensive line class for Alabama, but it might be the best we’ve ever seen.

Will Alabama football have the greatest offensive line class of all time?
It’s very much within the realm of possibility. Tommy Brockermeyer is the No. 5 player in this class, while Latham is only a few spots back of him with his five-star status at No. 17 overall. Ferguson is the No. 47 player in the nation, while James Brockermeyer cracks the top 200 at No. 188 overall. Not only is the Crimson Tide getting four blue-chippers, but all play different positions up front.
Theoretically, Nick Saban could one day start Tommy Brockermeyer and Latham as his bookend offensive tackles with James Brockermeyer anchoring the offensive line at center with Ferguson playing on either side of them. Alabama is one guard prospect away from having their own version of the “Fab Five” in the trenches. It’s mind-blowing to have that much offensive line talent really.
Ferguson’s commitment had Alabama skyrocket up the 2021 recruiting class rankings to No. 2 overall behind only the Ohio State Buckeyes, according to 247Sports. The Crimson Tide leapfrogged four programs in the process on Sunday afternoon, surpassing the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Tennessee Volunteers and the LSU Tigers. They now have the No. 1 class in the SEC.
What is interesting is while offensive line coach Kyle Flood was in on recruiting all four players to Alabama, he was only the secondary recruiting on all four of them. Running backs coach Charles Huff was Latham’s primary recruiter. The Brockermeyer twins’ primary recruiter was defensive backs coach Karl Scott. Ferguson’s primary recruiter was safeties coach Charles Kelly.
Alabama can end up with the No. 1 class in 2021 and the best offensive line class ever assembled.
