Cleveland Browns: The offense will score 28 points per game
The Browns offense sputtered in 2019 because of their inability to protect Baker Mayfield. Signing Jack Conklin in free agency and drafting Jedrick Wills in the first round are two moves that will effectively solve that issue.
Remember, the Browns are still blessed with big-time talent at the skill positions. The signing of Austin Hooper is only going to make the team’s receiving corps more dangerous.
That’s why Mayfield is going to trigger a prolific attack in 2020. The team averaged 20.9 points per game in 2019. Look for the average to jump to 28 points per contest this season.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Tomlin will lead the team to an AFC North crown
Most NFL observers seem to have handed the division title to the Ravens. Admittedly, Lamar Jackson and company deserve to be the odds-on favorites heading into the regular season. That doesn’t mean the race is over before it starts.
It’s easy to envision a scenario where Ben Roethlisberger returns to the field and makes the Steelers a contender once again. His ability to extend plays with his big body and produce long passing gains with his big arm should cure what ailed the Pittsburgh offense a season ago.
If Roethlisberger can produce a top-10 offense, the Steelers can ride a potential top-five defensive unit all the way to double-digit wins. They are a credible threat to Baltimore. If a few things break in Tomlin’s favor they could pull a surprise and topple their rivals.
