Comic-Con 2020 is all set to be at home, but will Marvel be there?

San Diego Comic-Con is upon us. And pandemic or not, Comic-Con was determined to make sure the best week in fandom wouldn’t be 100 percent canceled this year. So, in order to please the fans while also making sure everyone stayed safe in their respective homes, Comic-Con decided to throw its first-ever online convention: Comic-Con@Home. This marks the first year in Comic-Con’s 50-plus year history that the convention has been canceled officially, but still, the show must go on.

And so, Comic-Con has announced a pretty solid lineup of panels that will all be done virtually from Wednesday, July 22 to Sunday, July 26, ranging from Star Trek to The Walking Dead. But will Marvel be participating in this week of virtual fun? Yes, but probably not in the way you expect it.

Typically, Marvel Studios graces its presence in Hall H, the hall where fans line up around the block just to get a chance to be in the room where it happens. Elsewhere, Marvel might have panels on gaming, TV and (of course) comics! This year, though, that’s going to be very scaled back. There will be no Marvel Studios-specific panels, i.e., no updates on future movies coming from Marvel Studios like Eternals or Shang-Chi, nor will there be updates on shows like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Solider or Loki.

But the good thing is that Marvel announced there will be a panel for The New Mutants — the movie that it acquired from Fox. And there will be several other Marvel panels, which you can see below.
