CeeDee Lamb should tear up the NFL as a rookie in 2020

CeeDee Lamb could have a big year for the Dallas Cowboys in 2020.

CeeDee Lamb was a dynamic wide receiver for the Oklahoma Sooners. Now he’s ready to star with the Dallas Cowboys.

During his career, he recorded 173 catches, 3,292 yards (19 yards after catch), and 32 touchdowns. He ranks first at Oklahoma with 24 catches of at least 40 yards and six career games of at least 160 yards. He ranks second in career receiving touchdowns and third in both career receiving yards and career 100-yard receiving games (14).

Lamb had the great fortune of playing at Oklahoma where Heisman Trophy winners and one national champion played quarterback in all three of his seasons. The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder was drafted 17th-overall by the Cowboys.

In terms of his fit with Dallas, he could fit in the offense as a slot receiver given his speed, route-running ability, and hands. Utilizing those aspects of his game on bubble screens, run-pass options, the wildcat formation, and other ways could give the Cowboys offense the burst it needs to compete in the NFC East and the conference as a whole.

With Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup on the field, opposing defensive coordinators are going to have a tough time trying to stop all three of them. There will be matchup problems all over the field. It’s very possible that Lamb could win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and lead all rookies in the major stat categories at his position.

Lamb is going to be a special player in the NFL, no doubt. That’s why he was the first wide receiver taken in the draft. He has all the makings to be the best wide receiver of the next generation.
