Giannis Antetokounmpo’s long-range game is looking good.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is having another MVP-caliber season for the Milwaukee Bucks and has a legitimate shot to lead the team to its second NBA championship down in Orlando.

One aspect of his game that has developed in the 2019-20 season is his 3-point shot. The four-time All-Star is known for dominating at the rim. Improving from long range could be a terrible sign for his opponents.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the shooter

Antetokounmpo has a new career high with 4.8 3-point attempts per game this season. He has also made 1.5 per game, which is also a career-best over his 0.7 per game average last season. The MVP has clearly made it a focal point in his game, and the video from Orlando shows his newfound skill is not a fluke.

Shooting without defenders is obviously much easier. But a terrible 3-point shooter would not casually drain five in a row. Antetokounmpo has worked on his long-range game and the only weird thing from the video is the fact he is nailing the shot on the Miami Heat’s “Miami Vice” court.

Antetokounmpo is averaging nearly 30 points per game this year and that should continue in Orlando. He is already the team’s leading scorer, rebounder and assist guy this season. Improving his 3-point shot was the one thing that eluded him until now.

The Bucks are set to be the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, barring an unexpected collapse. Taking a player like Antetokounmpo who already averages near 30 points a game and improving his deep shot adds a whole new dynamic not just to him, but to the entire team.

Opposing defenses already have to be wary of the MVP striding to the rim with ease. Now, falling back and protecting the rim could result in a 3-point make that has opposing coaches wondering how exactly to stop the Bucks and their superstar.
