Cam Newton working out with Julian Edelman should get you hyped (Video)

Cam Newton’s latest workout partner is wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Cam Newton is working on his rapport with New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
After signing an incentive-laden one-year deal with the Patriots, Newton has brought a ton of excitement to one of the least interesting offenses in the NFL.
While he faces competition in fellow Auburn Tiger Jarrett Stidham and journeyman Brian Hoyer, there is a reason Newton may end up winning the New England starting job out of camp. He’s simply more dynamic than them.
Though Stidham and Hoyer may be putting in the work with the Patriots receiving corps this summer, they do not have the Instagram account of the one-of-a-kind font of Newton. As you can see by his latest video, a shirtless Newton and Edelman put in the work on Wednesday in a video perfectly choreographed to Disturbed’s “Down With the Sickness”. Oh-ah-ah-ah-ah.
Newton shines through the shade while he gets down with the sickness.
Who said working on your craft is easy? Newton had been cast aside by the only NFL team he’s ever played for after the first and second wave of free agency. The Carolina Panthers held onto their quarterbacking asset long enough for Newton to run out of places to sit in a sick game of musical chairs. He had to bide his time, but he lands in a terrific spot in New England.
The Patriots moved on from Tom Brady after 20 seasons. Even though replacing a legend is impossible, Newton can win big in New England if he can play up to his lofty standards from yesteryear. When Newton is healthy and his team is playing well, who would you rather have captaining your ship? Just ask his 2010 Auburn teammates or his 2015 Panthers teammates.
Newton has already put in the work with fellow Patriots teammate Mohamed Sanu this offseason. Edelman and Sanu are his top-two targets entering 2020, as we’re still not sure if N’Keal Harry will live up to his draft status after a disappointing rookie season out of Arizona State. Getting on the same page with Edelman and Sanu will help him with the starting job.
As the season approaches, will find out soon enough of Newton starts for the Patriots Week 1.
