Showtime alongside Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) announces a full lineup of boxing events taking place through December of 2020.

On Wednesday, during a media Zoom conference call, Showtime alongside Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) announced a full lineup of boxing cards through December of 2020.

In total, Showtime presented plans for eight different fight dates. Several are innovative and unique in their structure.

Showtime’s boxing events begin on Saturday, Aug. 1, in a WBO junior featherweight title fight between undefeated fighters Stephen Fulton Jr. (18-0, 8 KOs) and Angelo Leo (19-0, 9 KOs).

Showtime comes back on Saturday, Aug. 15, with a card headlined by WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs) and Roamer Alexis Angulo (26-1, 2 KOs).

September will feature three cards staged on the 19th and 26th. Showtime’s coverage on Sept. 26 will be split into day and night phases featuring twin boxers Jermall and Jermell Charlo in pay-per-view matches.

Jermall (30-0, 22 KOs) defends his WBC middleweight title against Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-2, 10 KOs). Derevyanchenko is arguably the toughest test of Charlo’s career. He lost a controversial decision against  Gennadiy Golovkin in Oct. 2019.

That same day, Jermell (33-1, 17 KOs) will fight Jeison Rosario (20-1-1, 14 KOs) in a junior middleweight unification bout. The WBC, WBA, and IBF titles are up for grabs in what is a significant championship contest.

Showtime and PBC unveiled the most significant list of boxing events during the pandemic era.

In October, Showtime fights take place on the 10th and 24th. Saturday, Oct. 24, features junior lightweight superstars Gervonta Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) and Leo Santa Cruz (37-1-1, 19 KOs) for WBA title supremacy in a pay-per-view battle.

Showtime comes back with cards on Saturday, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Dec. 12. Junior lightweights Chris Colbert (14-0, 5 KOs) and Jaime Arboleda (16-1, 13 KOs) fight on the November lineup and WBC bantamweight champion Nordine Oubaali (17-0, 12 KOs) defends his title against Nonito Donaire (40-6, 26 KOs) in December.

It’s planned that all fights will be hosted at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. There are no plans to include live audiences at the moment, but that, along with most other details, are subject to change.

“We are proud to announce the strongest and most comprehensive schedule of fights in all of boxing,” said Stephen Espinoza, Showtime’s President of Sports and Event Programming. “Each bout on this schedule, our largest schedule announcement since 2018, carries high stakes and significant implications.

From highly-regarded prospects to emerging stars to established champions – all in tough matchups – this lineup delivers on our promise to provide boxing fans with the best talent, the most exciting fights, and the highest quality presentation in the sport.”

Showtime and PBC rolled out a calendar full of high-level boxing action that will excite fight fans. This is further proof that boxing is back in a big way.
