The NBA played some hilarious sound effects in exhibition games on Wednesday.

If you thought the NBA bubble couldn’t get any more outrageous, you were wrong. In Wednesday’s exhibition games, the NBA decided to implement some hilarious sound effects into the games. Following missed free throws, whoever was controlling the sound board was having a field day.

It’s unclear whether the NBA will continue to use these sound effects when the actual games start, but they absolutely should. Just imagine J.R. Smith missing a key free throw down the stretch of an NBA Finals game and the entire facility echoes “Bruh”. It would be absolutely laugh out loud funny.

We need to see this continue throughout the NBA season.

Watching NBA basketball in empty stadiums is going to be weird no matter what. Adding weird things like sound effects will add a buffer during awkward silences that wouldn’t have previously existed with fans in attendance. It is a nod to the absurdity of the situation, which is simply perfect.

Who knows what other sound effects the NBA might add? The “LeBron James kid” would be too perfect not to include. We also need the famous Michael Jordan “Stop it, get some help” quote. Maybe for a big three in the fourth quarter of a playoff game we could hear “Oh baby a triple!” Feel free to steal any of these ideas, Adam Silver.

The NBA season is already as weird as anyone could have possibly imagined. At this point, the NBA should just be doing anything and everything they can to make it as entertaining as possible for fans. This is an awesome step in that direction.
