Angel Hernandez is getting roasted for terrible calls in the 2020 MLB season opener.

MLB action is finally underway Thursday night as the Washington Nationals are hosting the New York Yankees. This is plenty of reason to celebrate. The only negative from the game is the fact Angel Hernandez is the umpire behind the plate.

As expected, Hernandez has made some terrible calls within a few innings and is already getting roasted on Twitter.

Roast of Angel Hernandez

No one is holding back, and fans know baseball has officially returned with some terrible calls by Hernandez.

Hernandez has no shame in making terrible calls, and it’s one reason why robot umpires may not be too far off. Just look at this strike-three call.

That is absurd! The over-the-top call will have fans players and fans fuming, and it’s a shock MLB put Hernandez behind the plate in the season opener. At least this allows for some great content within an hour of baseball returning.

It almost seems like Hernandez is either guessing or his mind is made up on a call before the ball even leaves the pitcher’s hands. There is just no excuse for some of his mistakes, especially during a 60-game season at the highest level of professional baseball.

Hernandez blowing calls on such a big stage, yet again, will hopefully be another knock against him. But the man looks almost indestructible when it comes to job security.

Baseball is back, and Angel Hernandez is already driving fans crazy. All is not well in the world, but this is a positive sign that provides even a tiny sense of normalcy to our country.

The roast should continue all game and seeing the Hernandez hate fill the timeline is a welcome sign during this pandemic.
