Henry Ruggs III is officially a Las Vegas Raider.

The Raiders signed their 12th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft on Saturday. Ruggs III was the fastest prospect at the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Ruggs III clocked his 40-yard dash at 4.27 seconds.

“Official. NOW ITS TIME TO WORK” Ruggs III captioned his Instagram post.

Ruggs III is expected to make an immediate impact for the Raiders offense in 2020. He’s expected to start alongside the Raiders No. 1 receiver Tyrell Williams.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide wideout is known for making plays where he racks up yards after catch and finds a way to break free in small gaps. With Ruggs III’s blazing speed, he is always a threat to stretch the field and burn defensive backs.

Ruggs III’s talent should translate well in the NFL as he possesses a tangible that cannot be coached, speed. In his rookie season he can prove to be the fastest player in the league. After all, his 40-yard dash time is only .02 of a second shy from tying Kansas City Chiefs star wideout Tyreek Hill.

The 2019 Raiders offense ranked 12th in the NFL in yards averaging 363.7 yards per game. However, the team was in the bottom third in points. They averaged 19.6 points per game which ranked 24th in the league.

The Raiders do have a collection of young talent on their team surrounding quarterback Derek Carr. Carr is coming off a season where he completed 70 percent of his passes racking up 4,054 yards through the air with 21 passing touchdowns to eight interceptions. With the emerging talent of one year pro running back Josh Jacobs and Ruggs III now joining the fold, the Raiders have the potential to have a breakout season in 2020 as they break ground in Las Vegas.
