The Seattle Seahawks acquired the best safety in the game, and Russell Wilson is ready to work.

It’s been a busy offseason for the Seattle Seahawks, and after failing to re-sign Jadeveon Clowney, the NFC West stalwarts have made a huge move on the defensive side of the football that could help them reclaim supremacy in the league’s most difficult division.

Per a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Seahawks acquired understandably upset New York Jets superstar safety Jamal Adams, sending two first-round picks to the beleaguered AFC East organization as part of the package.

Seattle is getting a true game-changer at the back end of the defense, and Adams is set to be their best safety since Earl Thomas roamed the Legion of Boom.

Elite quarterback Russell Wilson is always ready to welcome new talent to the city of Seattle, but his reaction to the trade was simple and what anyone would expect from the quiet and collected leader. Wilson is just ready to work. But with three exclamation marks, so he makes it clear he’s also absolutely thrilled about this trade.

Wilson has won one Super Bowl ring already in his career and was agonizingly close to a second. Seattle have slipped as an organization since then despite Wilson putting together the best passing seasons of his career, as the defense has regressed since Seattle’s peak in 2013 and 2014.

Adding Adams as a true superstar defensive back could be a huge move for the Seahawks reclaiming their status as the best team in the NFC. Giving up two first-round picks may seem like a steep price, but it’s exactly what a player like Adams is worth.

Wilson has taken on a lot of responsibility in leading the Seahawks organization, and now he can share some of that with a superstar on the other side of the ball. Seattle needed star power on defense again, and they have certainly got that in Adams.
