DraftKings MLB one-off picks:

BvP is one of the most polarizing things among statheads, especially when it comes to daily fantasy games. What it means is going by a batter’s past stats against the night’s pitcher.

I like Corbin, but there’s no way I’m using him against the Yankees with the starts of Stanton and Judge. His history against the few Yankees that he has faced is ugly as well.

Spencer Turnbull lost 17 games last season, so there’s no reason to avoid Cincinnati bats today. He has never faced them before, but a few Reds one-offs at Great American Launching Pad seems a good way to round out a lineup.

With the wind blowing out at Wrigley, I want a couple of Cubs. Baez and Schwarber are the ones that stand out here. Almora homered off of Peralta last year. Chatwood has good numbers against Milwaukee, but with the humidity and wind blowing out, Yelich is an elite play.

Carrasco only faced the Royals once last year. He gave up six runs in .2 innings. This is a gutted Royals team right now, but I still don’t trust Carrasco against them. His career numbers, even against just the active Royals, aren’t very good.

The Astros have been decent against Kikuchi, but I’m not going to stack this. There are so many better places to attack. Same with the White Sox against Maeda. Some exposure isn’t a bad idea, but too much could sink you.

Mitch Keller was awful last year, especially on the road. That said, he’s got great upside. With so many other stack options I would only stack Cardinals in large field GPP’s. A couple of lefty one-offs aren’t terrible ideas though.

Jay Bruce ($3,600) vs. Jose Urena: 5-16(.312), 2 HR, 6 RBI, 3 BB
Giancarlo Stanton ($4,800) vs. Patrick Corbin: 6-16(.375), 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 2B, 2 BB
DJ LeMahieu ($4,300) vs. Patrick Corbin: 18-48(.375), 3 3B, 4 HR, 11 R, 7 RBI, 3 BB
Whit Merrifield ($4,500) vs. Carlos Carrasco: 8-18(.444), 2 2B, 3B, HR, 5 R, 4 RBI, SB
Alex Gordon ($3,600) vs. Carlos Carrasco: 6-36(.167), 4 HR, 5 R, 6 RBI, 6 BB
Alex Bregman ($5,100) vs. Yusei Kikuchi: 4-10, 2 2B, HR, 2 RBI
Josh Bell ($4,900) vs. Dakota Hudson: 6-8(.750), 4 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI

J.D. Martinez and Stanton will be in all of my lineups today. I’ll alternate Cruz, Yelich, and Bruce in the others.
