Penn State QB commit Christian Veilleux not afraid of Ohio State defense

Four-star 2021 Bullis Bulldogs Quarterback Christian Veilleux has confidence he can succeed against one of the best defenses in the Big Ten.

A quarterback having the confidence to score when facing pressure is what every offense needs. Christian Veilleux responded to an Ohio State Football tweet Friday stating that he would score a touchdown facing pressure from former Ohio State standouts Nick Bosa and Chase Young.

You have to admire his bravado.

Christian Veilleux committed to the Nittany Lions April 29 and opted to join Penn State and Head Coach James Franklin over the Clemson Tigers, Duke Blue Devils, and Tennessee Volunteers. In the last four seasons, the Ohio State Buckeyes have had the upper hand against the Nittany Lions winning three out of four games, but they have been tightly contested.

Veilleux will surely be looking to change that during his career. This past season, he threw for 2,006 yards, 26 touchdowns, and ran for 147 yards and five touchdowns. On film, he has good pocket presence; a strong and accurate arm and he has the ability to make plays with his legs.

With the COVID-19 pandemic causing cancellations and delays of play for sports across the country, the Interstate Athletic Conference released a statement saying the winter, fall, and spring sports will resume play no later than January 2021. Veilleux and the Bulldogs football program will still be able to play.

As for his tweet above, the great Mike Tyson once said, “everyone has a plan until they get hit in the mouth.”

Veilleux will have to back up his statement on the field as a Nittany Lion.
