Steelers tight end Eric Ebron doesn’t seem too excited for the 2020 season

Eric Ebron is skeptical about 2020 NFL season. 

Steelers tight end Eric Ebron is wary about the prospect of the 2020 NFL season. He responded to a tweet from an NFL fan page detailing some problems the NFL may run into this season with a sarcastic “can’t wait”.

The tweet Ebron is referring to compares the MLB to the NFL in terms of likelihood of an outbreak. An NFL roster consists of far more players and personnel than an MLB team, which could make an outbreak far more likely.

The NFL could run into problems if they don’t release a plan shortly.

The MLB has already had its problems with the virus only a few days into the season. The Miami Marlins home opener has been canceled after 14 players and coaches tested positive for COVID-19. Ebron certainly thinks that the same is possible in the NFL.

The NFL is still yet to release a detailed plan for the 2020 season. This comes after a tweetstorm from NFL players last week demanding more urgency from the NFL to protect their players. With training camps scheduled to start later this week, the clock is ticking for the league.

This offseason, Ebron signed a two-year $12 million contract with the Steelers. Ebron has had an up and down NFL career so far. After being selected 10th overall by the Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft, Ebron never truly excelled in Detroit. Then, after signing with the Colts in 2018, he caught 13 touchdowns and earned himself a Pro Bowl selection. After another down year in 2019, the Colts let him walk in free agency.

If the 2020 NFL season does take place, he’ll look to recapture the insane red zone production he saw in 2018.
