The Browns have come up with a creative idea to keep fans involved during training camp despite them not being able to attend.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced NFL teams to hold training camps at their team facilities and without fans present. The Browns have found a way to keep the fans included though and that’s to live stream practices.

This is actually a really simple idea, but a good one nonetheless. It allows the team to still take all of the precautionary measures that need to be taken this offseason while also allowing fans who might normally attend training camp to feel like they’re there.

According to Mary Kat Cabot, the team will premiere a special called “Browns Live: Training Camp”, which will be two hours and take fans inside what’s going on throughout training camp.

There was no way a regular training camp was going to be possible, so the Browns made the most of the situation.

Having a large group of fans gathered in one area for training camp would have not been a good look for the NFL during this pandemic. While masks could have been required, asking people to keep them on the entire time and to wear them correctly at that, they were outside in what could be brutally hot temperatures didn’t seem realistic.

The risks outweighed the rewards when it came to holding training camps, so moving them to each team’s facility and having it be players and staff only was the best move. It’s a bummer that fans can’t be a part of it this summer, but Cleveland’s idea is awesome.

Hopefully, this is something the other 31 teams pick up on and run with it as well because it’s a good one. This way fans can still see the jaw-dropping plays we’ll see throughout training camp and feel like they’re getting more out of camp than just seeing tweets or reading articles about it.

It’ll be a unique NFL season, but ideas like these are a small step in making it feel just a little more normal for the rest of us.
