This week, the FanDuel/DFS community will be presented with the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Let’s take a look at this event from a FanDuel pricing perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I wanted to clearly state that the purpose of this article is not to provide a specific lineup. Having stated that, this article will provide multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in compiling a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest!

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the 2020 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Rory McIlroy $11,900

The current number two ranked golfer in the official world golf rankings has played ten events on the PGA Tour this season. In those ten tournaments played, McIlroy has six top ten finishes, including a win at the WGC-HSBC Champions in November. More recently, McIlroy finished 11th at the Travelers Championship in June.

Xander Schauffele $11,200

The 26 year old American has played 13 tournaments on the PGA Tour since the start of the new season in October 2019. In those 13 events played, Schauffele has an impressive 11 top 24 finishes, including a third place result at the Charles Schwab Challenge in June.

Additionally, Xander certainly checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Schauffele is currently ranked third in GIR (greens in regulation-72.78%), seventh in strokes gained off the tee (.674), 16th in strokes gained approach (.648), tenth in strokes gained tee to green (1.403), and fifth in par four scoring average (3.93) on the PGA Tour.

Matthew Fitzpatrick $10,200

He has three top ten finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a ninth place result at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. Fitzpatrick also finished fourth at the 2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Patrick Reed $10,000

Reed has six top ten finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a win at the WGC-HSBC Champions in February. I also like the fact that Reed has illustrated the ability to play well at TPC Southwind in the past. Reed finished 12th at the 2019 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Mackenzie Hughes $7,700

The Canadian has two top six finishes in his last three events on the PGA Tour, including a third place result at the Travelers Championship in June.

C.T. Pan $7,000

Yes, I know that Pan has not had a great season in 2020. However, I also know that Pan appears to be turning the corner with regard to playing decent golf again. He finished 44th at the Memorial Tournament in his last event two weeks ago.

I also like the fact that I know that C.T. Pan can finish the deal if he gets in contention on a Sunday afternoon on the PGA Tour. To be more specific, Pan won the RBC Heritage in 2019. I think Pan is an outstanding fantasy golf value at the low FanDuel price of only $7,000.
