Von Miller frustrated by his ranking on NFL Top 100
Broncos linebacker Von Miller is not happy about where he landed on the NFL Top 100 Players.
The NFL Top 100 Players has released numbers 100 – 11 so far and Von Miller was ranked 26th on the list, which is 16th spots lower than his 2019 ranking.
Miller was not happy about his ranking to say the least.
Miller had 46 total tackles, 20 quarterback hits, and eight sacks through 15 games last year. Those numbers are all lower than his 2019 stats where he had 48 tackles, 26 quarterback hits, and 14.5 sacks, which is all a big reason why he was in the top ten on last year’s countdown.
The Broncos took Miller second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft and he’s rewarded them by becoming one of the most consistent pass rushers in all of football. In his nine years in the league (all with Denver), Miller has recorded double-digit sacks in all but two seasons. One of those seasons saw him play in just nine games.
Miller might not be the same smothering player he was when the Broncos won the Super Bowl in the 2015 season, but at 31 years old, he’s still one of the best in the league at what he does. Offenses still fear having to game plan around him and offensive lines dread having to try and block him. He’s a nightmare to face.
It’s funny to see players get so fired up about where they’re ranked at on these lists because it never really felt like anyone took these seriously until recently. Miller thought he should be higher than 26 is going to motivate him to PROVE that he should be in the top 20 at the very least.
Von Miller and the Broncos haven’t been to the playoffs since they won the Super Bowl in 2015, but this year looks like they could be contenders to make it back to the postseason. Miller tweeted a picture of himself this offseason and he looked absolutely jacked. If he can be that defender we saw in 2015 again, NFL offenses are going to be in trouble.
