Alabama football bold prediction No. 1: Crimson Tide make the National Championship Game

The Tua injury timeline ultimately sunk Alabama’s chances at making the College Football Playoff last season. Though he fought through like a warrior, he wasn’t at 100 percent against eventual National Champion LSU and then, of course, missed the final two games of the regular season. Now the Crimson Tide enter a full season without Tagovailoa, which might raise some questions.

For as good as the record-setting quarterback was, though, Alabama as a whole might be better off without him. The 2020 Crimson Tide appear to be a team that will once again win with defense, dominating in the trenches and with heavy reliance on the running game. We’ve seen them win titles in this manner previously and they have the personnel to be in that mix again.

Despite some other great teams in the SEC, Bama appears to be a cut above Georgia, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M. They should win the conference and that should be enough to get them back into the College Football Playoff once again. The question is what will happen once they get into the final four.

I’m not ready to say that Alabama is going to win the National Championship. They are clearly one of the best teams in the country but saying that they’re going to win over Clemson or Ohio State if they make it to the Natty is a bit too rich for my blood, even for bold predictions. Will they be in the title game, though? You can bet on it.
