Lance McCullers came out and called Joe Kelly unprofessional for how he acted on Tuesday night

If you thought the drama between the Astros and Dodgers was just going to go away on Wednesday, you couldn’t be more wrong. After Joe Kelly became public enemy No. 1 throughout Houston for throwing at Astros batters and firing off expletives at players, countless guys inside the clubhouse remain furious.

You can put Lance McCullers on that list. The veteran hurler spoke with the media and didn’t hold back with his thoughts regarding Tuesday’s incident, calling out Kelly for being unprofessional.

Will there be more fireworks between the Dodgers and Astros on Wednesday night?

“Joe Kelly threw a ball behind Bregman’s head on 3-0 on purpose,” McCullers said with passion. “Not only did he take it upon himself to send a message, but he wasn’t even a part of that team. We knew coming into the game he likes to go off script. What he did was unprofessional.”

Those are the words of a man who is sick to his stomach after seeing the way Kelly handled himself at Minute Maid Park. The Dodgers reliever first got his party started by throwing at Bregman, which infuriated many. But, he then followed that up by letting an offspeed pitch get away with him, which went straight for Carlos Correa’s head.

In that same at-bat, Kelly struck Correa out, then directed a “sit down (expletive)” in his direction, which ultimately led to both benches clearing. We almost had an all-out brawl on our hands, with Kelly being the main reason why.

With the two sides ready to face one another on Wednesday, we’ll have to wait and see if Kelly enters the game and if he’ll go after more Houston players. If he does, we may be in for a brawl of epic proportions.
