The Boston Bruins are hilariously bad at basketball

It’s a good thing these guys play hockey.

It’s clear that none of the Boston Bruins could pursue careers in the NBA after the team’s official account posted a clip of a few players playing pickup basketball in the Toronto bubble.

We counted a total of five missed field goals in that eight-second clip. The combined PERs for these guys is not going to look good.

They seem to be playing some version of the game 50 or 21, as they all look like they’re competing against each other. While the athleticism is there, their fundamentals are nowhere to be found. You would think that professional athletes would be able to pick up any type of ball and be at least competent, but that’s not the case at all.

The Bruins should stay on the ice.

The Bruins need something to keep them busy during their downtime, so maybe basketball isn’t the worst idea. They certainly have a ton of room to improve. Star winger Brad Marchand, who is not in the video, gave his take on the ugly display on Twitter.

The Bruins should just leave the sport as a whole to the Celtics, who will probably get a good laugh out of this video, considering they share the same arena.

The Bruins might be better off preparing for their return to the ice. They play their first exhibition game Thursday night and will kick off with their first actual game against the Flyers on Sunday. After taking home the President’s Trophy this season, the Bruins will have high expectations once the playoffs begin later in August.
