Steve Levy, Brian Griese, and Louis Riddick are the new Monday Night Football booth.
Steve Levy has been one of the more ubiquitous faces in charge of anchoring “SportsCenter” over the years, while Brian Griese made his name as a solid quarterback in the NFL. The pair have combined to form one of ESPN’s better college football teams over the years, but this duo just got a major promotion, per Jim Miller.
Levy, Greise, and well-respect analyst Louis Riddick have been named as the new Monday Night Football crew. Their first game will be the nightcap of a Week 1 doubleheader that will pit the Tennessee Titans against the Denver Broncos. Due to the cancellation of many primetime college football games, No. 1 college team Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will call the earlier game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants.

Levy, Greise, and Riddick will have to improve upon Booger McFarland’s Monday Night Football performance.
Levy, Greise, and Riddick will be replacing Joe Tessitore and Booger McFarland. While Tessitore is one of ESPN’s more respected college announcers and the voice of Top Rank boxing, he earned average reviews on MNF. McFarland’s passion was clear, but his frequent malaprops led to him often being mocked on social media for poor performance.
Ever since the A+ MNF booth of Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden has been broken up, ESPN has tried to replace them with college announcers like Tessitore and Sean McDonough. Unfortunately, their talents are better suited to the college game. Time will tell if the worldwide leader made the same mistake again with Levy and company.

Levy and Greise have been as rock-solid as they come in college, and Riddick’s preparation has earned him near-unanimous praise, but time will tell if they remain as good when calling the biggest game of any given week in the NFL.
