Trevor Bauer destroys MLB on Twitter for postponing games without notice

The outspoken Cincinnati Reds pitcher ripped MLB for how they cancelled games
We can virtually guarantee that MLB commissioner Rob Manfred is spending his weekend pacing in his home office due to what has been a nightmare of a week. The Miami Marlins had a massive coronavirus outbreak that saw 18 players test positive for the virus. Then on Saturday, over five players and coaches on the St. Louis Cardinals yielded positive test results for COVID-19.
This news batch has led to a bevy of games being postponed over a week into the truncated season. While that’s the right decision, one player is miffed about how the league has gone about it, but for a different reason.
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer grilled the league in a thread on Twitter for postponing games minutes before start time, specifically when pitchers are done warming up their arms. The outcry from Bauer came after Cincinnati’s game against the Detroit Tigers was paused due to rain, which was the third of the week for the team.
MLB’s protocol has been far from solid
On Monday, the Reds waited out a nearly two-hour rain delay, only to lose 8-7 to the rival Chicago Cubs. This Thursday, both squads waited out a 50-minute pause due to inclement weather, before the game was called.
MLB has had issues with playing games since Opening Day over a week ago but not due to weather, but due to positive COVID-19 tests. After the Marlins outbreak, the dominoes began to fall, as now over 15 games have been postponed due to the coronavirus. Even so, the league has been slow in making a final decision. Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Andrew McCutchen said that he learned about game cancellations on Twitter before receiving word from the league. That’s not good at all.
Manfred is bracing for a potential shutdown as early as Monday, with reports indicating that he told television networks to have alternate programming ready. This came on the same day that the Cardinals are dealing with an outbreak of their own.
You can’t blame Bauer for being miffed about the league’s mismanagement of rain delays. He’s a pitcher who has to loosen up his arm before taking the mound. Getting ready only to be told to wait out a delay mere minutes before first pitch will get any ace angry.
