NBA Twitter roasts Jusuf Nurkic over botched last-second inbounds pass
Jusuf Nurkic threw the game away late with a terrible pass.
The Portland Trail Blazers remain in a close fight for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. There will be a play-in tournament if the team can stay in ninth place, but there are four other teams in the equation as well.
That makes every single game in Orlando important. The Blazers took on the Boston Celtics on Sunday and were down 19 points at halftime. Portland then woke up in the second half thanks to huge days from both Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic. Both dropped 30 points in the game.
A comeback was in order and the Blazers found themselves down three points with a few seconds to play. Nurkic was tasked with throwing the inbounds pass, only to do this:
Jusuf Nurkic’s terrible pass got skewered on NBA Twitter
Nurkic was rightfully roasted on Twitter after making his awful pass out of bounds.
This was a terrible way to literally throw away the game after such a nice comeback. It unfortunately took away from a great game for the big man who is returning to play after missing over a year.
All his blunder did was lead to jokes from NBA fans. Blazers fans also had to use humor to avoid going crazy.
The pass was even bad enough to get a John Skelton reference.
The quarterback references didn’t end there as fans all looked to get their shots in after the play.
And at a time when TikTok is facing potential demise, Nurkic’s blunder brought up a classic NSFW Vine.
The jokes are fun, but the Blazers won’t be laughing after this loss. The only positive is that they remain in the play-in tournament race. They will just need to clean up inexcusable mistakes and maybe have Nurkic practice his long passes.
