Cam Jordan gives Tom Brady, Buccaneers some bulletin board material

Cameron Jordan just took the Bucs-Saints rivalry to another level with his latest comments
The New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are expected to compete for the NFC South title this coming season, with Drew Brees’ group as the favorites entering what’s sure to be a tumultuous year. The Saints improved Brees’ arsenal heading into 2020, adding Emmanuel Sanders to play alongside Michael Thomas. Add in Cam Jordan and a hungry defense, and the Saints have all the makings of a Super Bowl contender.
But, as far as offseason drama goes, Jordan just gave Tom Brady exactly what he needed — a chip on his shoulder. The 43-year-old always operates with the assumption of bulletin board material, as if we’d really doubt a six-time Super Bowl champion. Despite his advanced age, and the fact Tampa didn’t make the playoffs last season, would anyone really be surprised if the Bucs made a run? It doesn’t matter, Jordan applied just enough of questioning to give TB12 what he needs.

“But I do know we have to step up our game, we’ve got to elevate,” Jordan said on Monday. “They’ve got the second-greatest quarterback of all-time, right behind Drew Brees, and now we’ve got a head-to-head two times a year. We’ve got our work cut out for us and then they have an addition, you bring in Rob Gronkowski and LeSean McCoy, you already had two 1,000-yard receivers in Godwin and Mike Evans. This is a team that’s fighting for second place.”
We love Jordan’s confidence, and he’s earned the right to say what he wants. He had 15.5 sacks last season to lead the NFL, 2.5 of which came against those very Bucs. Still, though, are you sure you want to poke the bear?
The new-look Bucs will have to prove their worth, but should they be as advertised, Jordan might have to eat his words.
