DraftKings NBA picks August 3: Don’t pay up for Lakers

I was wondering (and dreading) when DraftKings was going to do this. They lopped off the early Toronto-Miami game from the main slate, leaving only five games for the DraftKings NBA slate to get a 4pm Eastern start time. Come on! 1:30 pm Eastern had worked fine up until now!

That leaves out Miami roulette and Siakam/Lowry. That’s very disappointing. We still have a lot of action for our DraftKings NBA slate though. First, it’s injury time.

Out: Domantas Sabonis (foot), Jamal Murray (hamstring), Will Barton (knee), Victor Oladipo (knee), Bojan Bogdanovic (wrist), Gary Harris (hip), Jeremy Lamb (knee), Mike Scott (knee), Big Dog III (hip), Tyus Jones (knee), Rajon Rondo (thumb), Vlatko Cancar (foot), Brad Beal (shoulder), John Wall (Achilles), Davis Bertans (opt out), Gary Payton II (coronavirus), Garrison Mathews (opt out), Justise Winslow (foot), Darius Miller (Achilles), LaMarcus Aldridge (shoulder), Trey Lyles (appendix), Ryan Broekhoff (opt out), Zhaire Smith (knee), Avery Bradley (opt out).

Questionable: Malcolm Brogdon (neck), Marco Belinelli (foot), Bryn Forbes (quad), Goga Bitadze (knee).

LeBron, Kuzma, and A.D. are listed as questionable again, but they haven’t been limited yet so we shouldn’t have anything to worry about. We may have to worry about resting Spurs players though with Pop being Pop. Mills, Gay, and DeRozan are the most likely candidates.

350 DraftKings points was only good for 3x money in the big $1 tournament. Scores were crazy high, and will continue to be with all of the value on DraftKings right now. Despite three lineups over 300 points, I still came out a touch behind.

Back by popular demand is the trifecta, where I attempt to pick the top three point scorers of the day. I’m not going to do ownership. That’s impossible. For the record, I’ll say the highest ownership will be Troy Brown Jr.

The top three scorers yesterday were Giannis, Luka, and Lillard. I had Giannis and Luka right and in order, but I missed on Lillard. I had Harden instead. Still, I’ll take it!
