This is incredibly familiar territory for Kelly who played in just four games in 2019 due to a knee injury and it seems like the fifth-year senior may be going down that route in 2020. Kelly was once regarded as a top prospect but his 2019 season proved unfruitful and he opted to play in 2020 over testing the NFL draft. He has only played one full season of four.
What does this mean for Caleb Kelly’s future?
Without game time it is unlikely he’ll be highly prized in the NFL Draft.
The good news is, if he is sidelined the season, he’ll be eligible to apply for a medical waiver and an option for a sixth year with the team.
Kelly now joins quarterback Tanner Mordecai on the injured list thought Mordecai’s injury is thought to be less severe.
