Maple Leafs: Jake Muzzin taken off the ice on a stretcher after scary collision (Video)

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Jake Muzzin suffered an awkward fall during the Stanley Cup qualifier game vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets and had to be removed from the ice on a stretcher.

Jake Muzzin stumbled and lost his balance after colliding with a player on the Columbus Blue Jackets and his head met the knee of his opponent and left the Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman prone on the ice.

Muzzin laid on the ice for a period of time before a stretcher came out and cautiously and safely took him away for further evaluation.

Hockey is a dangerous game with an inherent risk that severe injury can take place at any given moment, but it’s often in innocuous situations such as the one Muzzin found himself in that results in devastating injury and leaving fans breathless awaiting the prognosis.
