Former Steelers star thinks the team is a Super Bowl contender with Big Ben back
Big Ben will be back under center for the Steelers this year and that’s why they could win it all.
Ben Roethlisberger going down in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season put a damper on the Steelers’ chances. We all know that when a starting quarterback of Big Ben’s caliber gets injured or misses an extended period of time, that team will be in for a tough go of it without their starting signal-caller.
Somehow, the Steelers managed to go 8-8 with Mason Rudolph and, eventually, a guy named Duck Hodges as their quarterback. That proves that Mike Tomlin is a top notch coach and that the defense was playing lights out football.
Big Ben looks to be good to go for the 2020 season, which will be his 16th in the NFL. His return to the Steelers offense ensures that this team will return to contention and former Steelers defensive back Ryan Clark thinks they’ll be a potential Super Bowl team.
Big Ben’s return gives the Steelers what they were missing last season.
Pittsburgh’s dominant defense is returning, led by T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Heyward. With an offensive unit that features JuJu Smith-Schuster, Diontae Johnson, James Washington and rookie Chase Claypool, these team can reach great heights on that side of the ball, as well.
The Steelers also have James Conner at running back and signed Eric Ebron this offseason at the tight end spot. They’re loaded on offense and they’ll have their six-time Pro Bowl quarterback back in the huddle this year.
That makes the Pittsburgh Steelers very dangerous in 2020.
