Ray Lewis’ sons are heading to Kentucky where they will finish their college football careers as walk-ons on Mark Stoops’ upstart SEC squad.

Ray Lewis was one of the greatest linebackers the Miami football program ever saw, a Baltimore Ravens immortal, a Hall of Famer and arguably the best off-ball linebacker we’ve seen in the last few decades. While both of his sons have not quite matched his gaudy statistical numbers in their college careers to this point, they both think their careers can take off at Kentucky.

Both Rayshad Lewis and Rahsaan Lewis are leaving their respective programs at Maryland and Florida Atlantic and will walk-on at Kentucky, per ESPN.

Both of Lewis’ sons could carve out a role for themselves at Kentucky.

Rayshad was a two-star recruit who originally committed to Utah State, while Rahsaan started his career at UCF.

Rayshad made 17 tackles as a defensive back under Mike Locksley in College Park in 2018 before being converted to a wide receiver in 2019. He played mostly on special teams and he recorded just three catches for 13 yards last season. Rahsaan has seen limited playing time under then-head coach Lane Kiffin at FAU.

Kentucky is coming off of an 8-5 season in which they took down Virginia Tech in the Belk Bowl due to a thrilling performance from wide receiver turned quarterback Lynn Bowden. In need of both some reinforcements in the secondary and another receiver after Bowden and Ahmad Wagner left for the NFL, the Lewis brothers could fill these roles.

While Lewis’ sons have yet to really hit the ground running in college, playing under Stoops means that both of them might finally get the playing time they need to show that they’ve been overlooked for the last few seasons.
