Montrezl Harrell is expected back with the LA Clippers soon.

Montrezl Harrell has been away from the LA Clippers for two weeks due to the passing of his grandmother. While the focus in the NBA bubble has been on keeping COVID-19 outside, other problems in the world don’t disappear in the quarantine.

Harrell has spoken and posted about how close he was with his grandma. Any death in the family is tragic, but this one stands out, and it makes sense why he has been away from the team at a time like this.

Harrell’s grandmother passed away last week and he is now reportedly getting ready to rejoin his team down in Orlando after the funeral over the weekend.

Montrezl Harrell making his return

Chris Haynes explains how Harrell has been getting tested regularly with negative results. With that being the case, he will only be forced to have a four-day quarantine once he returns to Orlando.

This will be a huge boost to a Clippers team that has not been complete in Orlando. Lou Williams went out for wings and was slapped with a 10-day quarantine while Harrell has been at home. Williams averages 18.5 points per game while Harrell is just ahead of him at 18.6 per game. Having that production out of the lineup is not easy, and the Clippers should be whole again for the playoffs.

Harrell is enjoying his best NBA season with his 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He is setting himself up for a big payday in free agency following the season and on the court, he is thriving.

Unfortunately, he and his family were dealt this tragedy during an already tough time in the world. Hopefully, getting back to work will help Harrell as he moves forward. He has the entire Clippers organization behind him as he makes his return and once again proves why he deserves some serious money in free agency.
