NBA DFS picks August 6: Nurk goes berserk on his former team
Both FanDuel and DraftKings chopped off the early game again, so we have five games from the bubble for our NBA DFS tournaments. Chopping off the early game means we wont be tempted by Sacramento garbage or by Zion, but we also lose out on Jrue and Brandon Ingram. They would look pretty good on this slate.
Let’s see who else wont be participating in the main slate festivities.
Out: Domantas Sabonis (foot), Jimmy Butler (foot), Will Barton (knee), Montrezl Harrell (left the bubble), Kelly Oubre (knee), Aron Baynes (knee), Jeremy Lamb (knee), Gary Harris (hip), Seth Curry (leg), Patrick Beverley (calf), Eric Gordon (ankle), Courtney Lee (calf), Jalen Brunson (shoulder), Dwight Powell (Achilles), Willie Cauley-Stein (opt out), Vlatko Cancar (foot), Trevor Ariza (opt out), Rodney Hood (Achilles), Caleb Swanigan (opt out), Thabo Sefalosha (opt out), David Nwaba (Achilles), Bruno Caboclo (ankle), Rajon Rondo (wrist), Avery Bradley (opt out).
Questionable: Russell Westbrook (quad), Jamal Murray (hamstring), Malcolm Brogdon (neck), Goran Dragic (ankle), Dwight Howard (knee), Wes Matthews (calf).
The Nuggets did no favors with Murray’s status. I tend to think they wouldn’t play him in back to backs anyway, so he’s truly questionable for today. It looks like everyone is punting against the Bucks. Butler is sitting, and I tend to think that Dragic does as well.
Yesterday was a bust because my poster boy was. I also had zero exposure to Gobert and too much Torrey Craig.
Back by popular demand is the trifecta, where I attempt to pick the top three point scorers of the day. Yesterday I only had one of the three again in Embiid. Jokic was still in the top five. A.D. was nowhere to be found. Robert Williams had more damn points than he did…..
Today is tough for the trifecta due to matchups and since the Lakers and Bucks have both clinched one seeds. I’ll go with teams that have something to play for. Let’s go Harden, Nurkic, and Jokic.
