Bayern vs. Chelsea live stream: Watch Champions League online
By Warren Pegg
Bayern face Chelsea at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, Aug. 8. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Champions League’s resumption is how long periods without competitive games will affect teams. Bayern concluded the Bundesliga season in imperious form, of course, but that was way back in June.
They did at least manage to arrange a training-ground friendly against Marseille last weekend, and if the starting XI in that game is anything to go by then Joshua Kimmich will switch to right-back here, with Leon Goretzka and Thiago being paired in central midfield.
In contrast, Chelsea’s Premier League campaign ended almost a full month later than Bayern’s. However, any advantage is very unlikely to be important given the three-goal deficit Chelsea face from the first leg and the growing injury crisis at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro, Cesar Azpilicueta and Christian Pulisic are all out and with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, N’Golo Kante and Willian also doubtful, it could be that Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has to field some untested teenagers here.

Bayern were many people’s favorites to lift this trophy a month ago. The big question is whether the long lay-off will have a negative impact on their form.
