Who do all 14 SEC football teams play this year to round out the schedule?

On Friday, all 14 SEC football programs learned who will be added to their 2020 season schedule.

Though we don’t when all these games will be played yet, all 14 member institutions now know which two teams they’ll be picking up out of the opposite division to complete a 10-game, conference-only schedule. As is, each team will play the six from within its respective division, its annual cross-divisional rival and now three teams out of the opposite division to get to 10 games.

From this setup, the SEC does plan to implement divisional play and crown a divisional champion. Other leagues such as the ACC will go without divisions this year and have the two top teams record-wise meet for the conference title bout and play for presumably a College Football Playoff berth. So it still matters who wins the SEC East and the SEC West in the age of the coronavirus.

Here are the two additional games all 14 SEC football teams will play.

  • Alabama Crimson Tide: Kentucky, at Missouri
  • Arkansas Razorbacks: Georgia, at Florida
  • Auburn Tigers: Tennessee, at South Carolina
  • Florida Gators: Arkansas, at Texas A&M
  • Georgia Bulldogs: Mississippi State, at Arkansas
  • Kentucky Wildcats: Ole Miss, at Alabama
  • LSU Tigers: Missouri, at Vanderbilt
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs: Vanderbilt, at Georgia
  • Missouri Tigers: Alabama, at LSU
  • Ole Miss Rebels: South Carolina, at Kentucky
  • South Carolina Gamecocks: Auburn, at Ole Miss
  • Tennessee Volunteers: Texas A&M, at Auburn
  • Texas A&M Aggies: Florida, at Tennessee
  • Vanderbilt Commodores: LSU, at Mississippi State

In a brilliant play by the SEC Network, these 14 games were announced on The Paul Finebaum Show to drive up ratings. Though people tune into The Paul Finebaum Show all the time, SEC fans had to get their fix to find out who their favorite teams picked up in this one-of-a-kind college football season. If you need a visual, Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated has you covered.

In terms of the games we picked up, these three stand out the most: Tennessee at Auburn, Florida at Texas A&M and Texas A&M at Tennessee. These are three of the top-seven teams in the SEC. It’s good to see some extra competition come out of this 10-game, conference-only season slate. However, no two teams got hosed quite like the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Missouri Tigers did.

Arkansas drew Georgia at home and has to play Florida in Gainesville. Missouri gets Alabama at home and then has to play LSU in Baton Rouge. Keep in mind this is Sam Pittman and Eliah Drinkwitz’s first season leading their respective programs. We can’t reasonably expect Arkansas or Missouri to be above-.500 teams after their brutal draws in a 10-game, conference-only slate.

While Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M all draw at least one tough opponent, Alabama, Georgia and LSU benefit tremendously by getting off easy with their two extra games: Alabama hosts Kentucky and goes to Missouri. Georgia welcomes Mississippi State and travels to Arkansas. LSU gets Missouri at home and ventures to Vanderbilt. As they say, the rich keep on getting richer.

SEC football now has 14 more games worthy of being dissected in the coming weeks and months.
