Stephen Curry asks to caddie for Collin Morikawa after PGA Championship win (Video)

Stephen Curry wants to caddie during his time off.

In just his second career major, 23-year-old Collin Morikawa won the PGA Championship on Sunday. As a special treat, three-time NBA champion and avid golfer Stephen Curry was among the reporters asking him questions following his first major win.

While many questions revolved around Morikawa’s incredible drive on the 16th hole that led to an eagle and all but sealed the deal, the Golden State Warriors star and two-time MVP decided to ask the PGA champion about whether he was much of a leaderboard watcher … but not before having some fun with his own introduction, of course.

After being asked to identify himself, Curry said, “Uh yeah, Stephen Curry, Underrated Media — working title, I just started about an hour ago.”

Curry proceeded to ask Morikawa whether he was a leaderboard watcher and what his mindset was, but Morikawa wanted to return the lighthearted energy by saying, “My caddie is a huge Warriors fan, I think you heard him. I’m not,” he joked. “L.A. boy at heart,” to which Curry responded, “That’s fair.”

It was a pleasant exchange between two champions and golf enthusiasts, especially once Curry made sure to note that he had some time off and offered to be Morikawa’s part-time caddie for the next few months.

“Perfect,” Morikaway said with a smile. “I can’t wait. I want to see your game.”

While it’s highly unlikely this was anything more than a joke, Curry does have plenty of free time waiting for the NBA bubble to conclude in Florida since his Warriors did not make the cut for the 22-team league restart.

The 2020-21 NBA season is not expected to begin until December, so at the very least, we can expect to see Curry around the golf course more over these next few months … even if it’s nothing more than as a spectator or occasional member of “Underrated Media.”
