5 reasons Titans can win the Super Bowl this year
4. Wide receiver AJ Brown is a bonafide stud who is just about to hit his prime
In the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Ole Miss wide receiver AJ Brown with the 51st overall selection. In his rookie year, all Brown did was catch 52 passes for 1,051 yards, good for a 20+ yards per reception average, and haul in eight touchdown receptions; he also added a rushing score (and a 20 yards per carry average on the ground) — all in an offense which limited him to only 84 targets on the season.
In 2020, Brown is going to be the guy for quarterback Ryan Tannehill and an increased focus by opposing defenses on stopping the running game me more open looks and more targets for the second-year pro. In addition, the team invested in the offensive line this season, meaning that Tannehill should have more time to look downfield at his 6-foot, 226 pound top target — and an increase in targets, plus an increase in accuracy of those targets, mean big things for the wideout.
It should be abundantly clear to Tennessee that teams are going to key in on stopping the running game and force the Titan offense to beat them through the air. When that happens – all that Brown needs is for the quarterback to get him the ball, and he’ll do the rest of the work himself.
Tennessee is capable of winning the Super Bowl in 2020, and a big part of the reason why is the play of wide receiver AJ Brown, who will soon be one of the top 10 wideouts in football.
