NBA DFS picks August 11: Build your lineup by the Booker

Today is going to be one of the biggest headaches in NBA DFS history. To start off, DraftKings has all seven games for the day starting at 1pm Eastern. It is a glorious smorgasbord of players that have nothing to play for with a few still fighting for spots mixed in there.

FanDuel decided to make it even more treacherous by chopping off the first two games of the slate. They have late swap now, so why do that? Looks like I’ll be over on DraftKings for the majority of my lineups again.

Now the fun part: the players that we know are sitting. This will be mostly irrelevant by noon or so. Toronto didn’t decide to sit most of their guys until after 2pm. Giannis wasn’t ruled out until later in the day either. I can’t stress enough to target teams that have something to play for. Toronto, Boston, Milwaukee, Philly, and Houston care about nothing more than not having a serious injury right now.

Out: James Harden (rest), Joel Embiid (ankle), Ben Simmons (knee), Jrue Holiday (elbow), Brandon Ingram (knee), De’Aaron Fox (shoulder), Zion Williamson (Pelicans lost), Caris LeVert (thigh), Jarrett Allen (ankle), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Jaren Jackson (knee), Evan Fournier (illness, not coronavirus), Terrence Ross (left bubble), Josh Richardson (rest), Joe Harris (groin), Kelly Oubre (knee), Garrett Temple (rest), Aron Baynes (knee), Richaun Holmes (hip), Jamal Crawford (old), Michael Carter-Williams (foot), Eric Gordon (ankle), Tyus Jones (knee), Kent Bazemore (calf), Tyler Zeller (knee), Bryn Forbes (quad).

Questionable: Giannis (toothache), Tobias Harris (ankle), Al Horford (knee), Derrick White (knee), Dorian Finney-Smith (hip), Danuel House (toe), Shabazz Napier (ankle).

I would guess that Luka and Porzingis plays. Dallas would like nothing more than to get out of that seven slot right now. They have a puncher’s chance at doing so.

That’s a huge injury list and it doesn’t even have the players who never entered the bubble. There’s so much value out there today. Who’s worth a flier and who’s not? We’ll get to that.
