Wikipedia prankster transferred Justin Fields back to Georgia after Big Ten canceled season
By John Buhler
According to Wikipedia, Justin Fields now plays for Georgia football again.
How you gonna tell Justin Fields he can’t go home and play for Georgia football?
After one incredible year with the Ohio State Buckeyes, the 2019 Heisman Trophy finalist had his junior season canceled on him by the Big Ten. Fields projects as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after fellow North Georgia native Trevor Lawrence of the Clemson Tigers. Lawrence is going to play in the ACC this year, so why can’t Fields go back to the SEC and play for them Dawgs?
According to Wikipedia, Fields has successfully transferred back to the University of Georgia and give the Dawgs the best quarterback room in college football. With Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer Jamie Newman, USC Trojans transfer JT Daniels and now Fields back in The Classic City, head coach Kirby Smart better win a national title in 2020 or it’ll be worse than 28-3.
Would Kirby Smart let Justin Fields start in 2020 if he went back to UGA?
When people think about Fields playing for Georgia, they remember him being used as a glorified gadget quarterback in former offensive coordinator Jim Chaney’s antiquated system. Fields’ defining moment in Athens came when he was tackled on a trick play in the Dawgs’ SEC Championship loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide with a College Football Playoff berth on the line.
Chaney went back to the Tennessee Volunteers to be Jeremy Pruitt’s offensive coordinator, while Fields transferred to The Ohio State University to become a Big Ten superstar playing for Ryan Day. The Buckeyes made the College Football Playoff, coming up one play short of playing for a national title. Now, Fields is poised to never play another snap of college football in his life.
If the Wikipedia rumors are true, Fields should beat out Newman and Daniels for the starting job. Look for Newman to transfer back to Wake Forest, while Daniels backs up Fields because it’s not like he can go back to USC and play for the Trojans either. He better hope Kedon Slovis doesn’t transfer to Georgia because top-tier quarterbacks love to do this in the age of the coronavirus.
As long as somebody can edit a Wikipedia page, people can dream of Fields being back at UGA.
