Isaiah Thomas wants to join the Warriors.

Isaiah Thomas was an elite point guard back in 2017. Then the injuries struck and Thomas went from dominating for the Boston Celtics to jumping from Cleveland, to Los Angeles, to Denver, and finally to Washington.

The guard was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in 2020 before being waived and now he is without a team. This is a player who averaged nearly 30 points during the 2016-17 season and also made the All-NBA Second Team that year.

Thomas is seeking a comeback in a major way and sent a tweet expressing his desire to join one of the NBA’s best dynasties.

Isaiah Thomas wants to be a Warrior

The Golden State Warriors are set up for success next season. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson are both expected to return and will finally get to play together with Andrew Wiggins. The team also has a great shot to land the No. 1 overall pick. Even if they fall short, an elite prospect is joining a team that is already set to compete in the Western Conference.

Thomas has not been the same player since that 2016-17 season in Boston. He has dealt with several injuries and has a hip that may scare teams away. However, playing in a limited bench role on a team like the Warriors could be the perfect fit.

The guard has also never won a championship and joining the Warriors at the age of 31 would help his chances before an eventual retirement. He could come off the bench as an experienced veteran, with the only question being how his size and injuries changes his abilities on defense.

dark. Next. Should the Warriors prioritize the present or future?

Would the Warriors welcome Thomas to the roster? The team has had a legendary bench squad in recent years and as long as he is healthy there is nothing wrong with having a veteran on the roster. He just needs to prove his hip can hold up for an entire season.
