Watch Dodgers Keibert Ruiz homer in his first at-bat in the Major Leagues.
Keibert Ruiz sent one heck of a message to everyone in his first at-bat in the Major Leagues proving he’s a force to be reckoned with. The rookie catcher popped one into right field for a home run on Sunday against the Angels during Game 3 of the fan-favorite Freeway Series.

Ruiz has been with the organization for six years, according to the Los Angeles Times, but it was his first at-bat in Dodgers blue and took only three pitches before hitting the first (of many) home runs he’ll have as a Dodger.
Keibert Ruiz made history twice today
He even made a bit of history by becoming just the seventh player in Dodgers history to homer in his first at-bat. That’s impressive stuff. He also became the youngest catcher to start a game for the Dodgers in 15 years. He’s just 22 years old.
“He’s not going to be perfect, he’s not a finished product,” manager Dave Roberts said after the game. “But it’s an exciting time for Keibert and the Dodgers.”
