The Baltimore Ravens and other teams are mulling over a decision to work out Dez Bryant.

Dez Bryant hasn’t played football since 2017. The Baltimore Ravens are a notable team that could give the former Dallas Cowboy and New Orleans Saints wide receiver an opportunity to make a comeback at 31 years old. His last fully healthy season was in 2017 with the Cowboys. He caught 69 passes for 838 yards (12.1 yards per catch) and six touchdowns. Bryant’s career numbers are the following: 531 catches, 7,459 yards (14.1 yards per catch), and 73 touchdowns.

Would Dez Bryant be a good fit on the Ravens offense?

The Ravens have an excellent young group of wide receivers on their squad already. Their wide receiving core was led by the trio of Mark Andrews, Marquise Brown, and Willie Snead last season. They brought in a combined 141 catches, 1,775 yards (12.3 yards per reception), and 22 touchdowns. There was talk about Antonio Brown signing with the Ravens but that is not likely to happen. With all the talent that he possesses, he’s not worth all the locker room and off the field drama. As for Dez Bryant, if he didn’t tear his Achilles during a Saints practice two years ago and had a productive season, then I would be inclined to believe that he is a good signing for the Ravens.

The Green Bay Packers are another team that could use wide receiver help. After failing to sign a top-tier wide receiver in this year’s draft, the Packers could give Bryant a chance. According to DairyLand Express’s Paul Bretl, former Packers wideout James Jones endorsed the move.

While Dez Bryant could serve as a good veteran presence on the team, the Ravens have youth at that position group. The youth has more potential and productivity that will likely show itself. Bryant would be an excellent comeback story. It’s a shame that injuries derailed him. The good news for Bryant is that anything can happen as rosters change week-to-week.
