Texas A&M football schedule 2020: Can Aggies live up to the hype?
The Texas A&M football schedule for 2020 is out and Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies have high hopes that Kellen Mond and the squad can make noise in the SEC West.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but Texas A&M is expected to make some noise in the SEC West this year. It’s been an annual tradition in recent years of Texas A&M football being ranked highly in the preseason Top 25 with thoughts of competing for an SEC title but failing to live up to those lofty expectations and finishing with four or five losses and in the middle of the pack among SEC football teams.
But this year could be different now that head coach Jimbo Fisher has put together a few top recruiting classes and brought in the type of players he needs to run his offense and the type of playmakers the defense needs to survive in the SEC. Additionally, in a year with great uncertainty due to the truncated spring football period and COVID-19 related concerns, having continuity under center is imperative for success in 2020.
That’s why quarterback Kellen Mond, in his third season at the starter, is being relied upon by Fisher, his teammates and the fans of Texas A&M to lead the team to some big wins this fall.
Expectations are high for Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M football schedule does give the Aggies two of their toughest opponents coming at Kyle Field
The Texas A&M football schedule should see the Aggies open with a convincing win against lowly Vanderbilt on Sept. 26 and give the team a jolt of confidence and early-season momentum before getting into some much tougher competition over the course of the next nine games.
