Jose Altuve can’t stop striking out and it’s getting really sad (Video)
The 2020 season to forget continues to get worse for Houston Astros star Jose Altuve.
No one feels bad for Jose Altuve outside of Houston Astros fans right now. The superstar infielder is normally among the league’s best at the plate and in the field, but that unfortunately has not been the case for him this summer.
Altuve is currently hitting a lowly .176, which is unreal. In 91 at-bats, he only has 16 hits? This is completely out of character for him, which all the Astros haters are surely celebrating on a consistent basis.
Well, those haters were also probably fired up when they saw Altuve go down swinging on Monday night in embarrassing fashion. How in the world did he not make contact with this pitch right down the middle?

Jose Altuve is hitting .176 so far this season and it’s completely unlike him
That was a meatball parm set up for Altuve to send to the moon. Instead, he looked downright silly trying to make contact with the ball. This just goes to show how bad he’s been throughout the 2020 campaign.
Altuve took home the AL MVP in 2017, the same year Houston of course went on to win its now controversial World Series title. He’s been among the top players in the bigs for years. This major fall from grace is starting to become a concern for Houston.
To make matters worse, Houston is 12-10 on the year thus far and sit 3.5 games back of the Oakland Athletics in the AL West standings. This is unusual territory for the Astros, as they’ve dominate the division for a while now.
We’ll see if Altuve can turn this around later on this season, but things just aren’t looking good for him right now. He’s gone from looking like a former MVP to a rookie right before our eyes.
