Chiefs practice with limited fans at Arrowhead Stadium (Photos)

With the 2020 NFL season just a few weeks away, the Chiefs held an open practice at Arrowhead Stadium
The Chiefs are opening Arrowhead Stadium at just 22 percent capacity, a far cry from its height, where Kansas City fans make their voices known in the form of 76,000 supporters screaming in unison. This season will be different for football fans everywhere, but especially the Chiefs, who are coming off their first Super Bowl in 50 years. Rather than being welcomed back home with open arms for a ring ceremony Week 1, the Chiefs will do so with (some) very lucky fans who’ve braved the pandemic and decided to attend the games as safely as possible.
Such a decision has to include a mask and as much distance as possible between groups. It’s a bizarre sight even for an open practice, but it’s refreshing to know the Chiefs are taking this as seriously as they should.
The Chiefs open practice looked odd, but it’s something we’ll have to get used to
In all, 16,800 fans will be allowed to attend Chiefs home games. The team is selling tickets to the first three home games, with season-ticket holders receiving top priority, should they wish to attend.
The Chiefs have said they’ll follow guidelines from the CDC and local government in future capacity and/or before making the decision to further open the stadium to fans. As shown in the photos, certain seats are roped off in an attempt to force fans to distance whether they like it or not.
Hopefully, these measures work and we can eventually take further steps to opening up not just Arrowhead Stadium, but venues across the NFL.
