Lovecraft Country: What’s the deal with the Braithwhites?
By Mia Johnson
Lovecraft Country episode 2 introduced the Braithwhites. What’s their deal?
Warning! Spoilers for Lovecraft Country episode 2 are below.
Make no mistake, Lovecraft Country was just getting started in the premiere episode. But Lovecraft Country episode 2 was a whole different ballgame. This episode, titled “Whitey on the Moon” ramped things up to a 10, and that’s what we discussed on this week’s podcast episode of Lovecraft Country Chronicles.
Here’s the thing: the first episode was largely digestible and gave the viewers just enough to snack on to keep them entertained. But episode 2 was all about introducing the critical lore and players involved in this narrative. And some of the new characters introduced in this series were the Braithwhites, namely Samuel Braithwhite, daughter Christina Braithwhite, and distant relative Titus Braithwhite.
You can read about the ending of Lovecraft Country episode 2 in our recap, and you can hear our discussion about the Braithwhite family in the podcast below. One thing’s for sure, this family is weird and so out of touch with the evolution of society. And it makes no sense why Christina wants so dearly to be a part of it, wouldn’t you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or on social media, and give the podcast a listen to hear everything we have to say about the Braithwhites, Atticus, and that big, emotional ending.

What’s The Deal with The Braithwhites? (Lovecraft Country Episode 2)
In episode 2 of Lovecraft Country, we’re introduced to the extremely odd (and racist) Braithwhite family. In this installment, FanSided contributor Sabrina Reed discusses this lore-filled episode with Mia and Natalie. We nominate not just one but five contenders for the Fear Factor Award this week. And we predict everything at stake for Atticus, Letitia and the Freeman family in episode 3.
