4. The Saints have an explosive set of skill-position players

One of the keys to the Saints’ success in the Sean Payton era is an explosive offense. There are few offensive units in the NFL that can put as many skilled players on the field as New Orleans does.

2020 should be a big bounceback year for running back Alvin Kamara, who disappointed in his first year as the Saints’ main ballcarrier. Better health should ensure Kamara can terrorize opposing defenses with his blazing speed.

Another key player for the Saints’ offense is wide receiver Michael Thomas, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Thomas will get some additional help from free-agent acquisition Emmanuel Sanders and tight end Jared Cook.

Having all of those weapons will make it easier for the Saints to spread the field and exploit matchups against the opposing defense. Those various pressure points, combined with a coach who can exploit them in Payton, gives New Orleans a chance to be very special on offense this season.
