Greedy Williams was the lastest Cleveland Browns DB to get injured
The Cleveland Browns’ quest to reestablish their defense as one of the NFL’s best in 2020 is already off to a poor start, as an Achilles tear suffered by Grant Delpit and a lacerated liver that Kevin Johnson picked up have left their defensive back room noticeably threadbare apart from Denzel Ward. Second-year corner Greedy Williams also couldn’t escape the injury bug, as his availability for Week 1 is now in jeopardy.
Williams became the latest Brown to suffer a serious injury, as he has come down with a shoulder ailment. Head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t made a decision on if Williams’ injury will force him to miss any games.
Grant Delpit isn’t the only Browns DB to get hurt at practice. CB Greedy Williams injured his shoulder. Asked if Williams will miss a significant amount of time with the shoulder injury, Browns’ HC Kevin Stefanski said: “I would say we will see. Still evaluating.”

Greedy Williams is expected to start for the Browns
Williams, who was projected by some as the top cornerback in the 2019 draft class, slid to the second round of the draft due to concerns about his tackling. Undaunted by those issues, the Browns took a chance on Williams due to the 6-2 corner’s man coverage skills and speed.
Williams started in 12 games, breaking up two passes and making 47 tackles. His 54.6 PFF grade is indicative of a player who struggled early on but turned it on near the end of the year. If Williams and Johnson end up missing time, either Terrance Mitchell or former seventh-rounder Donnie Lewis Jr. are among the favorites to take his starting spot. Former Buccaneers corner MJ Stewart and former Oklahoma State star AJ Green now have a better chance at sticking on the 53-man roster.
Bad luck #Browns up to 9 key injuries through 9 camp practices. Kevin Johnson (liver), Terrance Mitchell (knee), David Njoku (wrist), Larry Ogunjobi (groin), Damion Ratley (groin). JC Tretter (knee), Mack Wilson (knee), Grant Delpit (Achilles), Greedy Williams (shoulder)

Just when the Browns finally started to shut up all the outside noise around the team, the vengeful football gods ravaged their defensive back depth chart. All that Stefanski can do now is pray that Williams can tough out his injury.
