Greg Olsen has struggled to stay healthy in recent years, but the Seahawks tight end looks like he’s back to his old form.

Greg Olsen was once a top-tier tight end in the NFL, recording three straight 1,000-yard seasons for the Panthers between 2014 and ’16. Olsen not only was one of the best tight ends in the entire league during that time, but he was able to stay healthy, appearing in all 16 regular-season games each year.

In 2017, however, things changed for Olsen, as the injuries started to pile up for the former 2007 first-round pick. He appeared in just seven games in 2017, nine in 2018, and while he did manage to start 14 games in 2019, he wasn’t the same player, finding the end zone two times throughout the season.

Greg Olsen is beginning a new adventure in Seattle where he hopes to turn things around.

So far, Olsen is looking good for his new team in limited action. Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer appears impressed with what Olsen has been able to show in training camp while Olsen himself told Dianna Russini he’s the healthiest he has been in three years.

When healthy, Olsen has shown how dominant he can be. He’s 36 years old, so he’s not going to be quite that same talent, but he’s certainly a player who can still get 1,000 yards receiving and become a reliable red zone target for Russell Wilson and the Seahawks.

Olsen will be the starting tight end in Seattle with Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister behind him on the depth chart. It’ll be one last chance for Olsen to show that he has plenty left in the tank and he’ll try to do so for a Seahawks team that is hoping to contend for a Super Bowl this year.
