Paul George dropped 35 points on the Mavs in Game 5, but Twitter still let him have it
Social media hasn’t been kind to Paul George, even after he had a huge bounce-back performance to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to an easy blowout win over Dallas. None of that matters, as NBA Twitter doesn’t react well to being proven wrong.
Four games into the playoff season, George was playing horribly, leading to overreactions from fans and pundits alike. Despite the small sample size, we wondered (aloud, mind you) if George could really be the No. 2 to Kawhi Leonard in LA. The Clippers paid a small fortune for George, and it was suddenly all for naught.
Oh, how spoiled we were.
Did George get the benefit of the doubt from social media after Game 5? Nope
Never forget, Clippers fans wanted to force Paul George to play overseas. That was a real petition.

Lakers fans are still salty. Just a few years ago, George was slated as just one of a number of stars to head to LA. Little did they know that meant the Clip Show.

Paul George fans do exist, we assure you. And they’ll be quite loud right now.
After being (rightfully) slandered by everyone from Clipper fans and Clipper haters alike, Paul George woke up in his bag.

Welcome back, PG. pic.twitter.com/zGf8vYahiX
Though, George ought to make the most noise right now. He heard the hate all week long, and finally made the haters zip it, at least for the time being.

Okay, maybe a selfie isn’t the best approach.

Just another similarity between 2K and real life.
Modesty wasn’t meant for moments like these. Get yours, PG13.
Yeah, it looks really bad right now. How did we not give a six-time All-Star more credit?
add Paul George to the list of players Twitter has slandered into being an all-star again.

Shoutout to NBA Twitter for giving George and the Clippers all the motivation they needed.
